I am Director of Research at the University of Hull's School of Arts & New Media on the Scarborough Campus in North Yorkshire, England. My professional involvement with the Eurovision Song Contest dates back to 1991 when I formed a part of the official delegation for the Maltese entry, serving as Head of Press and doing the live television commentary for TVM. Over the last few years I have worked with the MaltaMedia Online Network to provide a critical perspective on Malta's entry and also reported on the latest developments for SBS Radio's Maltese language service in Australia.

My involvement in the ERN stems from a longstanding engagement with the ESC in various guises. I am also very active in research about Maltese music, and uses of the Internet in/for performance. My weekly podcast about Maltese music can be accessed through my blog.
